Happy Daddy’s Home

The girls and I were so excited to pick up Daddy at the airport this past Thursday night after his trip to Guatemala! They were especially thrilled that Daddy brought them home a “surprise.” They got a small little something in the car on the way home from the airport and had to wait until they got home to get their big surprise. They both got beautiful dolls from Guatemala and some coins from there. Mommy got some wonderful coffee!!!! That and having my man back home was enough to suit me!

Kessed really missed Daddy this time and she couldn’t stop hugging him! Even after a couple of days of having him back, she’s like a magnet to Daddy when he’s around!

Well, these are a different kind of Sunday Snapshots! Micah confiscated my camera and it’s in Guatemala with him right now, so I’m feeling kind of lost! These are from a few days ago when the girls wore their flannel pj’s for the first time this season. We haven’t had heat or air on and it got a little cool in the house during the night, but the girls couldn’t wait to wear their warm pj’s so it worked out just fine!

Grandparent’s Day

Last Friday was Grandparent’s Day at SJCS. Sarah Grace was honored to take two of her Great-Grandmas with her. Kessed was awfully upset that she didn’t get to go! I think the Grandmas and Sarah Grace had a fun day! Here’s a couple of pictures and the family tree that Grace made that day.

This week we put up our fall decorations. The girls were sooooo excited to take a picture by the scarecrow this morning! They have been dying to get out our fall stuff since the first leaves started turning colors about a month ago. For the past several years, I’ve tried to hold off decorating for fall until the first “official” day of fall. We always celebrate it by putting out our fall decor. Now if our weather would just cooperate and get a tad bit cooler, it would feel like fall! Nonetheless, we’re enjoying our fall decor and especially the apple, cinnamon and pumpkin spice candles I can’t stop burning in my house!

Grace’s First Soccer Game

We’ve signed Sarah Grace up for soccer, but I’m not so sure this is going to be her sport! She says she likes the practices, but she doesn’t like the games because “we play to long.” Her first game was last week (when I took these pictures), but during today’s game Micah asked her why she was just standing there when her team and the ball were at the opposite end of the field and she said “…because I was pickin’ my nose.” She really likes the idea of soccer, but I’m not so sure she’s going to be an athlete. I’m thinking we should try ballet next year!

Restin’ Easy

This must have been the position of the day. I captured Kessed taking a nap and then that same night after she’d gone to sleep. She just looks so “chilled out.” I love it!

PLEASE NOTE: For those of you who know what shirt Kessed is wearing, she’s NOT ONE. She picked out this shirt by herself and it always makes me nervous when she wears it. I just don’t want anybody getting their hopes up!

Sunday was a busy day this week! We had an amazing time of worship at church. After church, we went to Grandma Ona’s for family dinner. Not everyone was there - it’s so hard to get the entire family of 50 plus people in the same place at the same time, but we really enjoyed ourselves. The girls and I spent the entire afternoon there! It was really nice to spend time with Grandma Ona and Grandpa Kenny, as we don’t get to see them as often as we used to.

The girls are so girly anymore! They just have to have their little purses with them when we’re going to church. I don’t ever tell them to get their purses, they just do. They always find a purse, go raid the change container to get their offering money and they’re good to go!

An Artist in the Making

Sarah Grace has always enjoyed drawing and coloring with her crayons, but since she’s started preschool, this has only increased AND she’s gotten a lot more creative. A week or so ago, some friends of ours (Lee and Shayla) were watching Grace while Kessed went to the princess party. (Just as an aside, I’ll have to say I was incredibly impressed with Grace’s attitude - she never once whined or complained that she wasn’t getting to go. She only got excited for Kessed and then when Kessed got back she asked her things like “So, Kessed, did you have fun at your party?” She’s becoming more and more sweet and thoughtful every day!) Back to the artist in her……..Anyway, Lee had drawn a very cool looking person with their hand over its heart (I’m thinking Grace did the pledge of allegiance for them). The next day, Sarah Grace drew this……….

I wish I had a picture of what Lee drew for her so you could compare, but the rain that evening washed it all away. Nonetheless, I was impressed! The white drawing above is the swingset.

Here’s another drawing I was impressed with. Sarah Grace drew this on a little card we made for the girls’ friends Joscelyn and Nikola who just became big sisters. It’s a doggy with bows in her hair.

It’s so strange how some clothes just don’t seem to be the size they really are. Kessed is pretty much in a 2T now (I think she’s a little small for her age as she’s just a few months away from 3!), though her dress today was a 12-18 month! And here’s the really fascinating thing - The skirt Grace is wearing…..is Kessed’s! Aunt Kim picked this skirt up for Kessed (probably because it has a matching purse!), but it’s way to big for Kessed around the waist and though it’s a size 2T, it fits Sarah Grace! She’s gonna be (I guess she IS) a skinny-mini!

Kessed’s getting bigger and bigger every day! She put both her shoes on by herself (even on the right feet, which she doesn’t normally do!) and then wanted to put my shoes on me. It was pretty cute…..I tried to cooperate as much as I could! She’s going to be just like her sister, a little mommy!
