We have had a fantastic week at our church’s VBS!! Grace had so much fun learning the songs (most of which she already knew prior to VBS because she’s been wanting to listen to the VBS song CD since we got it a few months ago!!) and collecting money for our missions focus. She emptied her piggy bank and wanted to give all the money she had for the backpack buddies (which was our missions focus - the schools send home backpacks over the weekend filled with healthy food for kids who may not have nutritious food at home.) It’s a great program and I’m proud to say that our kids gave over $1000 and were able to provide many, many backpacks for kids this year!! Although Kessed was just in the nursery during VBS, she had lots of fun, too! Her main highlight - that which she talked about every day - was her wagon rides! That’s how they transported the little ones outside to play, etc. and that was a big hit for Kessed. She keeps saying “Church have a wagon!! Church have a wagon!!”
Anyway, here’s some pics from this past week of the girls in their “Outrigger Island” apparel - thanks mostly to the grandma’s!!

This week is VBS at our church! The girls have been so thrilled about it! The theme this year is Haiwiaan Island-ish so Grandma Vera hooked the girls up with some cute Island-y dresses! Of course the girls thought the sunglasses were a must this week. Kessed has worn hers nonstop. She’s also gotten quite attached to the bracelet she’s wearing. I don’t know where it came from, but she wants to wear it all the time now - everywhere we go! I got a kick out of the last picture - talk about 2 going on 16!!

Micah preformed the ceremony for a wonderful, godly couple in our church this past weekend. Their ceremony was one of the most God-honoring services I’ve ever attended. It was just beautiful! The decor was beautiful as well and I just had to post a picture! So simple, yet so elegant! Congratulations, Beth and Harold!

Friday night the girls spent the night with Uncle Kirk and Aunt Kim (their “resident grandparents” as we like to call them!). When Grace called that night for good-night songs and prayers, she was telling me that they had eaten at McDonald’s for supper. Just curious, I asked her which McDonald’s they ate at. “Did you go to Atchison? Or did you go to the one in St. Joe?” Very matter-of-fact she replied “No, the one in America.” :) She’s just starting to learn about states and countries (as both grandparents live in different states and we’ve been trying to explain this concept to her) and I guess to be technical, she did answer correctly, but we thought her answer was quite humorous!
